Andre Daemen & Donald Muir Set World Record Flying Round-the-World
Andre Daemen, a Montreal flying instructor and Donald F Muir, a bush pilot from Sioux Lookout, Ontario piloted a single engine Cessna-210N Centurion (VE2WOL) round-the-world setting a world record for their small aircraft classification. The Canadian airmen departed from Dorval Airport, Montreal Canada on August 1, 1982 returning there in 6D 7H 30M after circumnavigation round-the-world flying 22,700 miles. They raised over $1,000,000 for cancer research during the flight which was organized by "Wings of Life," a cancer research foundation.
