	TWA started international air service on February 5, 1946 from Boston, Philadelphia, Washington 
DC, Detroit and Chicago to European cities. These air routes then expanded eastward through Africa 
and Asia.
	Northwest Airlines inaugurated its route between Seattle WA amd Anchorage, Alaska on September 1, 
1946.  On January 2, 1947 air service was entended to Minneapolis/Saint Paul. Later in the year, on
July 15th Northwest went international flying to Shanghai, China and Manila, Philippines. 
	On January 1, 1958 with the addition of Bangkok, Thailand and Manila, Plilippines TWA (FAM-27) 
was now able to connect with Northwest Airlines (FAM-28) to provide round-the-world air service.
