	On short notice on October 10, 1959, Pan American inaugurated one flight per week round-the-world 
jet service.  One Boeing 707 flew from New York, NY eastward through Europe and Asia to Calcutta, 
India and then continuing over the Pacific to San Francisco, CA.  On the same day, one Boeing 707 
flew from San Francisco, CA westward over the Pacific to Calcutta, India and then continuing through 
Asia and Europe to New York, NY.
