CommAIRdore Russell Sabor of Minneapolis, MN "claim to fame" was by being a
passenger on both the first transpacific (transpAIRcific) and first transatlantic
(transAIRlantic) passenger flights made by Pan American Airways in April 1937 and
June 1939, respectively.

His appetite for being "part of aviation history" continued when ten years later, he
became the first airline passenger to travel round-the-world on Pan American planes.

He left San Francisco, CA on June 26, 1947 on Pan Am (FAM-14) landing at Honolulu HI,
Midway and Wake Islands, Guam, Manila Philippines, Bangkok Thailand and Calcutta India.
Continuing on Pan Am (FAM-18) he landed at Karachi Pakistan, Istanbul Turkey, London
England, Shannon Ireland and finally New York City NY.

He documented his round-the-world excursion with letters from landings along the way.
Sabor circled the globe traveling round-the-world as a Pan Am passenger and thus made
his mark on history. The Russell Sabor Foundation continues today extending his legacy
to future generations.
